All donations to the Community Book Club support pathways for aspiring young writers through:

  • Expert advice about early opportunities, professional development, networking, mentoring and publishing.
  • Connection with established authors at festivals and events.
  • Commissioning book reviews, essays and other content.
  • Maintenance of the Writing WA Literati database to link writers and illustrators with paid work opportunities.
  • ‘Love to Read Local’ communications (book reviews, book club notes and newsletters) – showcasing new writing to potential readers.
  • The Observership Programan initiative providing emerging arts practitioners with a structured experience of governance processes and leadership.

Community Book Club Donors will:

  • Be invited to our Community Book Club ‘thank you’ event during Love to Read Local Week. Meet local authors, industry decision-makers and other donors.
  • Have the opportunity to contribute a ‘Donor Book Review’ on our ‘Love to Read Local’ website.
  • Subscribe to our fortnightly ‘Love to Read Local’ newsletter featuring new book reviews, member profiles and more, as well as regular donor updates.
