Call for Entries: 2021 Love to Read Local Flash Fiction Competition

Writing WA, in partnership with Raine Square and Night Parrot Press, is delighted to open the Love to Read Local Flash Fiction Competition for its second year.

We’re seeking creative flash fiction of 100 words or less inspired by the cover of a book by a West Australian writer. For ideas, head to the Writing WA website to explore hundreds of books written by local authors. Entries will be judged by Night Parrot Press publishers Laura Keenan and Linda Martin.

All entries will be published on the Love to Read Local website. Shortlisted entries will have the opportunity to be published on the Raine Square Short Edition Story Dispenser. First, second, and third place will each be awarded a Raine Square gift card to the value of $500, $300, and $200 respectively.

Submissions are open from Monday 3 May to Friday 21 May.

The shortlist will be announced on Friday 4 June and the winner and runners-up will be announced on Friday 11 June.

Entry is free and open to anyone over the age of 18 living in Western Australia. Click here to submit your entry.
